  • Healthy Children.org

    HealthyChildren.org is committed to the physical, mental, and social health and well-being of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. This resource provides evidence-based information from the American Academy of Pediatrics on child and adolescent health and other associated topics such as Lead Exposure & Children, Sleep, Oral Health for Children with Developmental Disabilities, and Nutrition.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder and Medications

    This Autism Internet Module educates caregivers and school personnel on psychiatric/behavioral conditions experienced by children with ASD, how medication may be used to help alleviate these symptoms, and how to best collaborate with medical professionals.

  • Vanderbilt Kennedy Center Health and Development Resources

    This set of tools and resources is designed to assist teams to support individuals with IDD to learn about healthy practices and medical procedures. It includes resources about blood draws, medical appointments, health, puberty and sexuality, sleep, and more.

  • The New Reality - Interpreting Behavior of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities

    Julie Gentile, MD, MBA reviews the biopsychosocial model as a lens to better understand the root cause of behavior in people with IDD. This model can be used to surface important information that impacts the development of appropriate treatment and intervention plans.

  • Ohio Minds Matter

    This tool provides educational resources for healthcare providers, families, and other stakeholders that support a coordinated, family-centric behavioral health system of care. It includes information on medications, disorders and conditions, and more. It was developed by a clinical panel working with the Ohio Department of Medicaid and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

  • News in Health

    This monthly newsletter from the National Institutes of Health offers information on an array of health topics. Past issues and special collections are available to review with many focusing on health issues for children that can be incorporated into staff training.

  • What Educators Need and Want to Know About Medications
