Leaders’ Review and Planning Tool

This tool provides the opportunity for team leaders to assess their knowledge and their team’s level of knowledge about the nine consideration areas in this toolkit. The Leaders’ Review and Planning Tool also includes an area for the identification of action steps to learn about unfamiliar areas. This tool can be used when the Considerations for Intervention and Support Navigation Essentials toolkit is included as a professional development activity.

  • Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Social and Emotional Learning Standards

    Explore the areas of social competency identified as important for all children. Progress towards these social and emotional competencies requires a multi-agency approach with specialized instruction and support for youth with IDD and behavioral health needs. This document can be helpful to teams when identifying specific goals for the IEP and ISP.

  • Autism Internet Modules

    The Autism Internet Modules are designed for anyone who teaches or supports people with autism or complex needs. Modules vary in length from 30 minutes to 3 hours. The information in most modules applies to people with other developmental disabilities as well as autism. Explore this free online training to find information on communication, sensory processing, behavior support, visual supports, and more.

  • Understanding and Treating Self-Injurious Behavior

    In this article by The Autism Research Institute, learn about possible causes for unsafe behaviors and possible interventions or supports to consider. A short questionnaire is also available that may assist a team to identify potential causes and interventions for safety.

  • The OCALI LifeSkills for Adulthood Framework (OLAF)

    This comprehensive tool is designed to equip youth with essential skills necessary for navigating adulthood. Developed by the Lifespan Transitions Center, OLAF serves as a roadmap for caregivers, educators, and professionals dedicated to fostering independence and self-sufficiency for youth in grades kindergarten to fifth. This framework is adaptable, allowing users to tailor it to the unique strengths and needs of each youth, regardless of their age.

  • Autism Society of America – Resources

    The Autism Society of America offers a variety of free resources and information that are aligned with many of the areas in the Considerations for Intervention and Support Navigation Essentials toolkit.
